Welcome to The Cluster Parishes
of
The Catholic Churches of Holy Trinity,
Richmond; St. Joseph's, Wellman, and St. Mary's, Riverside make up the cluster
parishes. We are people of the Diocese of Davenport walking together in
faith.
WALKING TOGETHER IN FAITH | Our
Vision as Diocesan Church
God our Father, God of Love, give us your blessing, as we join
together to do your work. Help us to cherish each person in our care as a
precious gift from you, for we are all your beloved children.
In your ministry may we seek only Jesus and his truth, may we boldly proclaim
his gospel, and may we call upon him often in prayer. Be with us now as we
accept our call to WALK TOGETHER IN FAITH.
AMEN!!

A MESSAGE
FROM Father Marty
Dear People of God,
Sometimes a few words are better than a lot of words. So with that being said, I give you something to think about today. When I received this from a deacon friend of mine I knew I wanted to make it a part of my life. And it goes with my homily from last Sunday.
Be the kind of person that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says "Oh no. He's up!"
Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it.
Take a few minutes to think before you act when you're angry or mad. Forgive quickly.
God never said life would be easy. He just promised it would be worth it.
Have a great week!
Fr. Marty
Mass Schedule
As noted in the bulletin, there will be no daily mass Tues-Fri this week Feb 7-10.
Attention All Liturgical Ministers
In case you missed our early "Spring Training", please plan to attend a make-up session on Thursday, February 16 at 7 PM at St. Mary's Church in Riverside. This "Spring Training" is for all who serve as lector, usher, greeter and/or Eucharistic Minister. If you were unable to attend this "Spring Training", please contact Fr. Marty. It is important that you attend!
Stand up for life
In the words of Bishop Amos: "The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that almost all employers, including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their employees health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs and contraception. Almost all health insurers will be forced to include those "services" in the health policies they write. And almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as a part of their policies. As a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled either to violate our consciences or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The Administration's sole concession was to give our institutions one year to comply." As a Parish community, let us pray that this decision will be overturned and Religious Liberty will be restored. We are asked to contact our elected officials and ask them to overturn this decision. You can go to either www.usccb.org or www.iowacatholicconference.org for more information.
Or you can write to our elected officials:

CEW (Christian Experience Weekend) help needed
Help is needed for the women’s CEW March 2-4 and men’s CEW March 23-25, setting up for meals, serving food, and cleaning up in the kitchen. Prepared items such as salads, side dishes, main dishes (vegetarian for Friday night due to Lent) and desserts are needed for most meal times. Five to ten volunteers are needed in 3-hour shifts for various meal times throughout the weekend. We are relying more heavily this year on food donations and volunteer assistance. Please help us make this a great retreat experience for our CEW candidates. Contact Linda Kron at 648-2331 during Parish office hours or Julia Neff at 319-541-1906 if you can help. Thanks!
The Sacraments of Commitment
Please pray for those couples from our Parish preparing for Marriage. (Some of them are attending the Marriage Preparation weekend today!) And pray for our seminarians and all who are discerning the call of God in their lives.
The Sacraments of Initiation
